​The Tree: Tree is essentially a plant. Plants may be classified into three categories as follows:-

1. Herb;-Herb is defined as plant whose stem is always green and tendered and height is usually not

more than one metre. Herb according to life-span, it is called annual, biennial and perennial.

2. Shrub: A shrub is defined as "a woody perennial plant differing from perennial herb in its persistent and

woody stem and less definitely from a tree in its low stature and its habit of branching from the base' It

has several stems/multiple leading shoots, none of which is dominant, and is usually more than 3m and

less 6 m. in height. When much-branched and dense is formed, it may be called as a Bush.

3. Tree: A tree is defined as "a large woody perennial plant having a single well defined stem(bole or trunk) and a more or less with a definite crown. A tree is usually more than 6 m.in height.
